Incredible science and videography!

Their scale models and the time-lapse of the replica coming together is mind-boggling!

Space enthusiasts Wylie Overstreet and Alex Gorosh say they built the first-ever to-scale model of the solar system — on a 7-mile stretch of dry Nevada lakebed.

The awesome arrangement in the Black Rock Desert comes complete with planetary orbits from Neptune to the sun, according to Sploid.

Showing the vastness of the solar system, Earth is represented by a blue marble.

“I have the world in my pocket somewhere,” Overstreet says as he fishes for Earth.

Overstreet, a director, and Gorosh, a cinematographer, illustrated the orbits of each planet by driving miles away from the “sun,” which is in the center of the spacey replica.

They filmed their effort using time-lapse photography, producing “To Scale: The Solar System,” the video above.
