Smith & Wesson’s new short barrel Model 66 and 69 Combat Magnum revolvers are on their way to consumers, the company announced Wednesday.
The new models, now shipping, feature a 2.75-inch barrel and stainless steel frame and cylinder. Chambered in .357 Magnum and .44 Magnum, the Combat Magnum revolvers were designed for magnum shooters seeking a medium size frame.
Smith & Wesson packed the wheel guns with new features such as a redesigned ball detent meant to strengthen the yoke to frame lockup for better support on heavy magnum loads and a full length extractor. Both revolver models are equipped with a red ramp front sight and an adjustable, white outline rear sight.
