Sig Sauer continues to expand its Elite Performance Ammunition series, adding the new Varmint & Predator ammo to its catalogue.
With offerings in 40 grain .223 and 22-250 Rem as well as 55 grain 243 Win cartridges, the V&P line boast projectiles that are lighter. Sig said this lighter design results in a higher muzzle velocities and flatter trajectories. The ammo and gun maker reports that its .223 Rem load features a muzzle velocity of 3,650 feet-per-second while the 22-250 touts a velocity of 3,975 fps. Rounding out the V&P line, the 243 Win ammo offers a velocity of 3,880.
“The new Sig V&P line of ammunition gives varmint and predator hunters access to exceptionally effective hunting rounds with match-grade accuracy,” Bud Fini, Executive Vice President of the Sig Sauer Ammunition Division and Special Projects, said in a press release.
“We use the same high-quality, single-base extruded powders in these Varmint & Predator cartridges that we do in our Sig Match Grade rounds. This provides consistent round-to-round muzzle velocities and insensitivity to temperature change, and hunters will especially appreciate
