Connecticut Senator Chris Murphy has long been a fan of more gun control laws, and a longtime opponent of a robust right to keep and bear arms. In Senator Murphy’s world, you can ban the most commonly sold rifle in the U.S. without infringing on anyone’s 2nd Amendment rights. You can require Americans to get a permission slip from the government before owning a firearm and not step on the right to own a firearm. In fact, I’ve yet to see a gun control proposal introduced that Senator Murphy’s actually found objectionable.

Now, despite the fact that Murphy’s demonized millions of lawful gun owners by claiming (among other things) that only killers would miss AR-15’s, he’s promising a “fresh, less polarized conversation” in a new book about gun control. Coming in January of 2020, Murphy’s book “The Violence Inside Us: A Brief History of an Ongoing American Tragedy” will, according to the author, delve into the roots of violence and as well as tell a “a deeply personal journey” of his own support for gun control.
