Sheriff To FL Residents: Don’t Shoot Your Guns At Irma. It Won’t Scare Her Away.

In response to a Facebook Event which, I am admittedly marked as attending, a Florida Sheriff has urged gun owners not to fire their guns at Irma.

While the event is a complete joke, I’m sure there are those who are pointing their guns to the sky as we speak. Even worse, they’re probably pulling the trigger.

One of the creators of the event, Ryon Edwards, told Yahoo News that he created the event out of “stress and boredom.”

“I never envisioned this event becoming some kind of crazy idea larger than myself. It has become something a little out of my control,” Edwards said.

We’d never condone such behavior. There’s a big difference between an online joke and real-life seriousness. This is not the latter. It’s sad that such a statement would need to be made by a public official, but that’s the sad reality.
