Firstly, the heart of the upgrade is Savage’s redesigned stock. Further, the company claims the stock improves the ergonomics over previous versions. Further, the Axis II utilizes Savage’s AccuTrigger, a user-adjustable trigger system. Savage’s thread-in headspacing system and floating bolt head help deliver accuracy, according to Savage Arms.

The Axis II sports a 22-inch button-rifled sporter barrel. Meanwhile, a detachable box magazine feeds the rifle system. Finally, Savage manufactures the upgraded rifle line in at least 10 different calibers, meaning there is a variant available for nearly every sporting pursuit.

Savage rebuilt the synthetic stock on the AXIS II for improved ergonomics that let any hunter shoot their best. Additionally, the rifle’s user-adjustable AccuTrigger, thread-in headspacing and floating bolt head extract the utmost accuracy from the 22-inch button rifled sporter barrel for the performance of high-end hunting rifles at a fraction of the price.
