New Hampshire-based gun accessory maker Samson Manufacturing added a new option for the Smith & Wesson Shield pistol, a new pocket compensator.
Sampson’s new Pocket Comp is designed to fit 1/2×28 threaded barrels, use factory recoil spring, and operates using a proprietary barrel nut as an attachment point.

According to the announcement, the system allows for “a rock-solid interface with no chance of marring the barrel threads.” When the Comp is not in use, the barrel nut can act as a thread protector. The device is contoured to match the slide, making it look like an extension of the barrel rather than an add on.
“Not only is the Comp small enough for pocket carry, the attachment system is unlike anything currently in use on a handgun” said Dave Biggers, a Samson spokesman.
The Pocket Comp is machined from aircraft-grade 7075 aluminum and mil-std hard coat anodized for durability. The devices sizes in 1.15 inches long, .85 inches wide, and weighs 1.2 ounces. MSRP is $64.99.
