Samson Manufacturing releases new finish for M-LOK SXS Series

Accessory maker Samson Manufacturing creates a new finish for its M-LOK SXS Series 12- and 15-inch AR-15 handguards for consumers looking for a grayed out finish.
Samson says the new color — Type III Class I Anodized Pre-Ban Gray — is in response to overwhelming demand from customers. The Pre-Ban Gray features a lighter shade of gray similar to the coloring on the company’s SP1 and M-16A1.
“The difference between Class 1 and Class 2 hardcoat anodizing is the removal of the black dye. Our Type III Class 1 finish results in a light gray color that is both distinctive and visually pleasing,” Dave Biggers of Samson Manufacturing said in a press release.
The Pre-Ban Gray SXS Series offers a free-floating rail design with M-LOK attachment points at 3-, 6- and 9-o’clock positions. Crafted from 6061-T6 aluminum, the SXS ships with a hex wrench and barrel nut wrench.
Available from Samson Manufacturing’s website, the Pre-Ban Gray SXS Series starts at $185 and tops out at $199.
