Ruger launches new Precision Rifle in .223/5.56

Ruger introduced a new variant on the popular Precision Rifle line, updating the long gun series with a 5.56 NATO/.223 Rem model.
Citing the reduced recoil matched with accuracy potential, Ruger said the new chambering seeks to broaden the appeal of the rifle series.
Measuring 39.25-inches with a weight of just over 9 pounds , the long gun is feature rich. The new model uses a hybrid “target” chamber, which safely accepts 5.56 NATO cartridges while also providing projectile control and accuracy for both the .223 and 5.56 rounds.
Like all Ruger Precision Rifles, this variant features a cold hammer-forged, free-floated barrel equipped with 5R rifling for minimum bullet upset. The barrel utilizes minimum bore and groove dimensions and a 1:7 twist rate to stabilize projectiles and deliver accuracy.
Offering a Ruger Precision Rifle Hybrid Muzzle Break and 20 MOA scope base, the semi-automatic rifle also utilizes the Ruger Marksman Adjustable trigger with pull weight range between 2.25 and 5 pounds.
Rounding out the furniture on the AR is a left-folding stock with adjustable comb height and length of pull, ergonomic pistol grip and Precision Rifle handguard.
