Last week Rick Ector was invited to be a speaker at the 34th annual Gun Rights Policy Conference in Phoenix, Arizona. Ector spoke about his free firearm training event for women that trained 814 women how to safely shoot – in one day.

This program is in its eight year. The idea for this event was inspired by a televised news account of a woman’s body being found in a field. Ector felt that someone should address this problem. His contribution was to offer free shooting classes for women.

Next year, Ector aims to train 1,000 women how to safely shoot a 9mm pistol.
