You can only tell so much about a product by analyzing what it’s made from and reviewing specs. Today, we are going to take a look at the build process including the actual machining and the assembly of the Jams Madison Tactical GEN2 lower with a Palmetto State Armory MOE mil-spec lower parts kit.

The James Madison Tactical 80% lower receiver comes with a polymer single use jig with templates for milling out the trigger pocket, hammer shelf, trigger hole, and for drilling the holes for the selector switch, the hammer, and trigger pins.

The first thing you should know about the jig is that it requires the correct tools. Though it is theoretically possible to complete this lower using hand tools, it is as practically possible as calling your mother three towns over by leaning out your window and screaming. Unless you have the skill of a master craftsman, you will need a drill press to drill out the safety selector and pin holes straight.
