Retired officer shoots suspect in Cypress

Harris County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that a retired police officer shot his neighbor Saturday night in northwest Harris County. Authorities said the incident happened in the 18000 block of Harnett Drive just before 7 p.m. The retired HPD officer, 58, was working in his yard when he was approached by his neighbor, Harris County Sheriff’s Office said. His 20-year-old neighbor was wearing a ski mask and holding a machete. He told the retired officer that he was there to kill him, authorities reported.
