NRA’s Youth Hunter Education Challenge (YHEC)

U.S.A.-(Ammoland.com)-Registration for the 2018 NRA Youth Hunter Education Challenge (YHEC) National Championship is now open! Scheduled for July 22-27, 2018, at the Mill Cove Environmental Center at Pennsylvania’s Mansfield University, the YHEC National Championship is the pinnacle of the YHEC program, bringing together top-ranked youths from across the nation to compete for top honors.

This unique opportunity allows youths to meet and learn with fellow participants and coaches and to demonstrate the skills they have acquired through hunter education to prove they are the future generation of responsible and ethical hunters. From rifle, bow and muzzleloader shooting at life-sized targets, to wildlife identification, map and compass orienteering and more, YHEC National Championship participants will put their training to the test in eight skill areas and exhibit their expertise in all methods of take and all types of game.

The most advanced of all YHEC events, the national championship requires all participants to have completed a hunter safety course as well as a YHEC event at the state level (if your state has one).
