I like to shop … a lot. I like deals and I love deals on firearms and ammo. Black Friday has turned into a monstrous thing and I almost dread it. Do I really have to deal with traffic, get up early the day after Thanksgiving and fight through crowds to get the best deals on ammo and firearms? One LGS (local gun store) with an e-commerce site says no – and they now have my business.

RAM Armory is small, but they are customer-focused and realize that while the business must generate revenue, it might also want to generate customers.

The RAM Armory posted this on FB and it got my attention:

Family members are so busy throughout the year. We’ve decided that the day after Thanksgiving should be about family, not deals. This year, we’re having our sale today through Thanksgiving and will be closed November 26th and 27th to allow our families to slow down and spend some time together. We’re launching different sales just about daily so check your email or facebook to stay on top of what’s coming in and what’s going on sale!

Their local and internet competition is going berserk with Turkey day +1 deals. But, maybe RAM is on to something .. or perhaps they’ll lose a ton of revenue for being closed the day after T-day. Either way, I just ordered a pistol and rifle from them at awesome prices and did so feeling like I got a deal without missing out on family time.

The day after Thanksgiving has always been a Turkey sandwich, fire pit and great conversation. Running around town saving 30 bucks .. not so much.

This Thanksgiving, maybe we all need to take a step back, say thanks and actually do some family time for a whole 2 days in a row.
