President Donald Trump made a lot of campaign promises, promises he’s done a pretty good job of keeping. While there were some of those promises I didn’t support, the man did what he said he was going to do.

However, there’s one big promise he doesn’t seem to be keeping, and that’s to defend the Second Amendment.

Now, I’m willing to let the bump stock thing slide. After all, I remember the legislation that was being considered and was also likely to pass. Reclassifying bump stocks by the ATF averted a near disaster on that front, so I’ll let it slide. I don’t like it, but I don’t have to.

The problem is, he’s once again talking actual gun control legislation and signaling his willingness to sign such laws.

The debate over gun control continues, with President Trump again calling for stronger background checks.

The President says it’s time for Congress to act—and also says he hopes the NRA will get on board.

But the President and the nation’s gun lobby could be in for a tough fight ahead.

President Trump on Friday was confident that some kind of gun reform is possible, even in the face of NRA resistance.
