American Defense Manufacturing recently announced Florida’s Polk County Sheriff’s Office selected the company’s UIC Mod 1 LE-X 11.5-inch SBR. Polk County selected the rifles as its official SWAT rifle. The Polk County Sheriff’s Office services the fourth-largest county in the state. It covers more than 2,000 square miles and 645,000 residents.

“The Polk County Sheriff’s Office awards the bidder whose bid is determined, in writing, to be the most advantageous, taking into consideration price and criteria set forth in the Invitation-To-Bid (ITB). We consider in part, but not limited to, quality offered, delivery terms, budget requirements, location, and service reputation of the vendor, in determining the most advantageous bid,” said David Rounds, Deputy Director Central Services Bureau.

Firstly, the UIC Mod 1 LE-X 11.5-inch SBR combines premium components and Rosco barrels. Also, the rifle comes with fully ambidextrous controls. These include the charging handle, safety selector, magazine release and bolt catch and release.

The contract calls for American Defense to further support the agency. As such, it will provide immediate, temporary replacement of any rifle taken out of service for evidentiary purposes.
