A Florida Little Caesar’s employee with a concealed carry permit reportedly defended himself from a late-night attack from a masked man bent on doing him harm.
Heriberto Feliciano, 28, was closing the Holly Hill restaurant in Volusia County on Saturday night and, upon walking outside, was ambushed by a man wearing a mask who first beat him with a wooden post until it broke then tried to stab him with a pair of scissors. Feliciano, who was armed, was able to pull a concealed firearm and shoot his attacker four to five times.
“As soon as he exited the building, he was immediately attacked by an individual that was wearing a scary clown mask and brandishing a wooden stick,” Holly Hill police Chief Steve Aldrich told WFTV. “I’m glad that he was able to defend himself and that he’s OK. It’s just unfortunate that this whole episode occurred.”
The unidentified suspect was taken to Halifax Health Medical Center where he died.
The Daytona Beach News-Journal reports that Feliciano suffered injuries to his face and shoulder.
