Petition Calls For VA Police Chief’s Resignation Over Anti-Gun Comments

Police chiefs in many cities are free to spout gun control nonsense all they want. They represent urban communities that tend to agree with them on the issue, so when they spout off, they get away with it. After all, they don’t answer to people like you and me, for the most part. They’re free to flap their gums without fear of repercussions.
However, many other police chiefs disagree with gun control. They recognize that law-abiding citizens are not now, nor have ever been, the problem. They take their position due to a variety of reasons, but they all maintain a pro-gun posture. Most of those, however, tend to stay quiet because they often feel it’s not their place to opine on politics. This despite living in areas where the community agrees with them.
But what happens when an anti-gun chief spouts off and their community disagrees? Well, you get stuff like this.
Testimony on Capitol Hill now has Charlottesville Police Chief RaShall Brackney under the microscope.
Brackney recently spoke to lawmakers about gun violence. However, the chief’s comments about banning certain types of weapons are now prompting hundreds to call for Brackney’s resignation.
