On a hunt, a knife that is reliable and serves as a good tool is important. Andrew Yates of Ontario Knife Company sat down with Michael Bane to look at two new knives they are introducing at SHOT Show 2018. The first knife has multiple grip options and can be used for precise cuts. It is big enough for the heavy work, but small enough to still precisely carve the animal. Their second knife, the Hunt Plus Camp Knife, is more of an all-around knife. It’s great for cooking, but it has many other uses.

Knife culture has changed, and the knife consumer has become more sophisticated. They are looking for lower cost and higher value, which is where Ontario Knife Company comes in. Their knives are made of 420 high carbon, which is a variant to 420 stainless steel, giving the blade a little more hardness. Their blades have 55-57 HRC. OKC’s knives are made in the United States, and are reasonably priced with the most expensive being $57.50.
