NWTF Supports Recovering America’s Wildlife Act
EDGEFIELD, S.C. -(Ammoland.com)- The National Wild Turkey Federation strongly supports the Recovering America’s Wildlife Act and thanks representatives Jeff Fortenberry (R-NE) and Debbie Dingell (D-MI) for introducing this important piece of legislation.
“Our wild places and wild animals are at a crossroad. For more than 75 years, outdoorsmen and women have shouldered the burden of paying for conservation efforts, but that funding source is no longer adequate,” NWTF CEO Becky Humphries said. “With the Recovering America’s Wildlife Act, all Americans will become vested in conservation, as the proposed legislation funds conservation of the species with the greatest needs now to keep them from being listed under the Endangered Species Act in the future.”
The act does not require taxpayers or businesses to pay more taxes; it will redirect $1.3 billion annually in existing royalties from the development of energy and mineral resources on federal lands and waters to the Wildlife Conservation Restoration Program to conserve a full array of fish and wildlife.
