Battle New Jersey Gun Rights
NSSF Reacts to N.J. Photo ID Ammo Card Idea
National Shooting Sports Foundation

NEWTOWN, Conn – -(Ammoland.com)- The New Jersey State Commission of Investigation this week issued a report calling for the state to require a photo identification card for the purchase of ammunition.

The current purchase card does not have a photo.

The group also suggested that mandated ammo purchase log books be replaced by an online system. This would be paid for by an increase in fees, of course.

“The SCI proposal will do nothing to enhance public safety in New Jersey because criminals are not going to obtain photo ID ammunition purchase cards,” NSSF’s Larry Keane told Guns.com. “They’ll get their ammo the same way they get their guns – illegally.

What’s so hard to understand about that? The proposal would launch another wasteful exercise carried out at the expense of law-abiding citizens.”

About NSSF The National Shooting Sports Foundation is the trade association for the firearms industry. Its mission is to promote, protect and preserve hunting and the shooting sports.
