NRA Foundation Grants $50,000 to Central PA Law Enforcement & Outdoor Organizations

FAIRFAX, Va. -(Ammoland.com)- Through its fundraising efforts at the enormously popular Great American Outdoor Show, The NRA Foundation is granting $50,000 to six central Pennsylvania law enforcement and outdoors organizations that contribute to public safety and promote the outdoor lifestyle through educational activities that encourage youth participation in the shooting sports.

The 2019 grants continue the tradition of support for the men and women of law enforcement and for educational and recreational youth programs across the country.

Since the NRA started the Great American Outdoor Show five years ago, more than $245,000 has been granted by The NRA Foundation—America’s leading charitable organization in support of the shooting sports—to central Pennsylvania law enforcement, youth groups and other eligible organizations.

  • The Susquehanna Township Police Department will receive a grant to purchase officer-worn body cameras. This type of technology may play a valuable role in increasing public confidence, gathering evidence, reducing complaints against and assaults on police officers, supporting officer skill enhancement through the review of performance and more.
