A spokesman for Maryland Governor-elect Larry Hogan said the Republican will not attempt to repeal the state’s sweeping gun control law that’s received opposition from 21 states.

“If we get bogged down on tinkering around with law in Maryland on controversial issues, we’re never going be able to work together across party lines to fix our broken economy,” Hogan spokesman Adam Dubitsky told the University of Maryland’s Diamondback campus newspaper.
