An employee of the National Rifle Association accidentally shot himself Thursday while conducting firearms training at the organization’s headquarters.
NBC News4 reported the 46-year-old man’s handgun accidentally fired when he holstered it at the NRA’s National Firearms Museum in Fairfax County, Virginia.
The man suffered a minor lower body wound and was transported to a local hospital for treatment, according to police.
Police reportedly worked with the local attorney’s office and indicated they don’t expect charges to be filed.
News 4 reported they had asked the NRA for comment but did not receive an immediate response.
