New Jersey has been in multiple previous reports on how strict and anti-gun the Garden State truly is. How about a Department of Defense employee being told he was request for a gun permit was rejected because there was “no justifiable need” to carry.

What does Tumminelli do at the Department of Defense? He’s a civilian worker at the DoD (which prohibits gun carrying on federal property) that is in charge of a counter-terrorism task force that targets ISIS and other groups. He trains and preps agents for explosives and cooperation in an attack. He has security clearance up to top secret.

As if that wasn’t threat enough, we can all remember that not long ago more than 21 million workers from the Government’s Office of Personnel Management had their information stolen. Naturally, Tumminelli wants the firearm to protect his wife and daughter. The state of New Jersey has told him that he is not permitted to take his legal firearm outside of his home.
