Fairfax, VA -(AmmoLand.com)- NRA-backed hunting suppressor legislation was revisited in House subcommittee yesterday, August 20, as previously reported.

House Bill 500 was reported out of House Fish and Game and Marine Resources Subcommittee and will go to a full committee for further consideration. HB 500, sponsored by Representative John Burt (R), would repeal the current ban on the use of legal firearm sound suppressors while hunting. Sound suppressors attached to firearms are an additional tool available to help protect the shooter’s hearing, reduce noise complaints by surrounding residents, as well as increase accuracy and safety.

If passed, New Hampshire would be the 38th state to allow the use of suppressors while hunting.

Please contact members of the House Fish and Game and Marine Resources Committee and urge them to support House Bill 500 when it is taken up for consideration.
