New Dan Wesson ECP Pistol – Concealable and Extremely Accurate
By AmmoLand Editor Duncan Johnson
Kansas City, KS –-(Ammoland.com)- A new offering from Dan Wesson is the new DW ECP or Enhanced Compact Pistol. Made for all-day concealed carry, the DW ECP took the heavy, match-grade bull barrel from the Dan Wesson 1911 Officer-size ECO and installed it into the slightly-larger ECP platform.
The resulting DW ECP is a very concealable 1911 with amazing accuracy.
The DW ECP features a trim 4-inch. barrel, and a compact, stainless steel slide on a forged aluminum frame. This design brings the weight of the DW ECP to a svelte 29 ounces, for comfortable all-day carry. The grip frame on the ECP, by the way, is full-sized, providing a very stable platform for a shooter’s hands.
The DW ECP’s tri-topped slide wears aggressive side serrations, while a top rib knocks down glare for a better view of the sights. The generous U-notch on the rear sight is a Dan Wesson creation and allows a shooter to quickly line up that rear notch with the pistol’s brass-beaded front sight. The bull barrel itself is flush-cut to make for easier disassembly and has a 30-degree crown.
