Lincoln, NE -(AmmoLand.com)- Target shooting is prohibited, effective immediately, on portions of Hamburg Bend Wildlife Management Area (WMA) south of Nebraska City in Otoe County because of safety issues.

Target shooting is prohibited within 100 yards of the north parking lot located at the east end of County Road L and also within 100 yards of the termination of County Road N at the flood control levee.

The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission reminds people using Hamburg Bend WMA that the flood control levee is not open to public use, including target shooting.

Target shooters should select an alternate site with a safe backstop, and they always should know what is beyond their target. In addition, shooters should pick up all of their trash and be wary of other users in the area.
