Fairfax, VA -(AmmoLand.com)- The Nebraska Legislature adjourned on May 28th, concluding the 2015 legislative session.

Two pro-gun bills previously reported on passed out of the Judiciary Committee and will remain eligible for consideration during the next legislative session.

  • Legislative Bill 30 would protect the privacy of gun owners by requiring that firearm possession, sale, use, registration, permit or application for a firearm permit be maintained as confidential and not considered a public record.
  • Legislative Bill 289 would create a state firearms preemption statute to guarantee that all Nebraskans may exercise their Second Amendment rights by making sure that firearm and ammunition laws remain consistent throughout the state.

As these bills have passed out of committee, they both will be eligible for consideration on General File early in the 2016 legislation session. Please contact your Senator and politely urge him or her to be ready to support these bills next session.
