NASCAR’s Joey Logano Partners with Elder Heart

Mission 22, a campaign from Elder Heart, has partnered with the Joey Logano Foundation to install a memorial art piece at Dover International Speedway in Delaware. This art piece will be a steel silhouette of veteran Staff Sergeant Michelle Langhorst who lost the battle with PTSD in 2015.

Elder Heart an organization created by a group of veteran special operations warfighters to help fellow veterans heal from PTSD and related conditions.

Joey Logano, a driver in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, wrote in his blog:

September is Suicide Prevention Month. Suicide is a tough topic to talk about, but I believe the issue has to be addressed if we want to work on solving the problem. We decided for the third week of Chasing Second Chances it was important to bring awareness to this cause, in particular Veteran Suicide.

… To those of us who have never had to fight because others were willing to risk their lives for our freedom, it is our turn to fight for these veterans. We need to become the army these soldiers need to get through the struggle.
