‘Mr. Roberts’ to be Performed on the Deck of the Battleship North Carolina!
USA -(Ammoland.com)- Thalian Association Community Theatre has slated open auditions for a much anticipated theatrical event, Mister Roberts, to be staged on the fantail of the USS North Carolina.
They will be held on Monday May 22nd and Tuesday May 23rd at 7 p.m. on the Battleship.
The production, directed by Artistic Director Chandler Davis, runs July 4th through July 23rd. Jim Bowling, who recently directed Barefoot in the Park for Thalian Association, will assist.
There are roles available for 19 men and 1 woman, and audition participants need to be prepared to read from a provided script. Descriptions of the roles and a synopsis of the play are available on their website.
“This is a great chance for local actors, as well as those familiar with the stage but new to the area, to be a part of Wilmington theatre history”, said Davis. “It’s a great play about leadership, loyalty and service to Country, and staging it on the most decorated Battleship of WWII is kismet.”
