The new non-NFA pump-action 12 gauge includes a 15-inch barrel and 10-shell detachable box magazine as standard options.
Announced Tuesday, the latest addition to Mossberg’s constantly growing Shockwave line is the 590M, blending the standard Raptor-gripped platform and its 27.5-inch overall length, with the company’s new series of detachable double-stack magazine offerings. While a single 10-shot magazine comes with the heavy-walled firearm, optional five, 10, 15 and 20-round capacity mags are sold as accessories.
The 590M features a safety strap on the corn cob fore-end along with sling swivel studs. Capable of holding 11 shells between the chamber and standard magazine, the newest Shockwave is billed as having a weight of 6.55-pounds, which is a full pound heavier than the standard model with its 6+1 capacity underbarrel tube mag.
Designed for use with 2.75-inch shells only, the mags are polymer with a self-lubricating body, hardened steel feed lips, and integral stabilizing ribs. A removable floor plate allows for cleaning while the springs are music wire.
