“The idea for the HT60 occurred at the same time as the New York State S.A.F.E. Act passed. I searched for suitable tactical .22 caliber alternatives with the adjustability I was looking for but there was nothing that was legal in New York,” explained Steve Leasure, inventor of the HT60 and Founder of Hunting Tactical. “Using my experience from being in the New York Army National Guard I began to craft the design of the HT60 to stay within the legal boundaries and still bring these needed modern features to the rifle. The Model 60 is tube-fed rifle and tube-fed rifles are specifically exempted in the S.A.F.E. Act.”
