Michael Tagliapietra Wins Gold in Sydney

Colorado Springs, CO -(AmmoLand.com)- Michael Tagliapietra won gold today in the P3 (Mixed 25m Pistol SH1) event at the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) Shooting World Cup in Sydney, Australia.

Tagliapietra (Fond du Lac, Wisconsin) qualified for the Final in the eighth and last position with a score of 562. Once in the Final, however, Tagliapietra easily advanced to the gold medal match where he dominated top-ranked Xing Huang of China 8 – 2 to win the gold. Chao Yang of China won the bronze medal.

“Mike has qualified for every Final in that event for over a year now and has used that experience to learn how to shoot them well,” said Bob Foth, National Paralympic Coach. “Timing for his first World Cup gold medal is excellent with the Paralympic Games in Rio just one year away. I was proud of the way he battled back from a slow start, and then just crushed the field once in the Finals.”
