A school district the a San Antonio suburb of Medina is making their stance on guns well-known. The Medina Independent School District has posted signs outside of their campus saying teachers and administrators may be armed.

After talking about the possibility for over a year, the school district’s board of directors decided the sign was necessary, giving the general attitude towards guns and shootings taking place nationally.

“I think that anybody who might have a thought about harming someone in mind would think twice about it,” Medina ISD superintendent Penny White told CW39.

Since the closest law enforcement is 20 to 25 minutes away, the sign made sense to install, White said.

Alisha Reagan, a mother of a third-grade girl at the school, said she had mixed feelings about the sign.

“I don’t know if that’s asking for trouble or not. I mean, you post a sign like that, it may bring trouble, unfortunately,” Reagan told KSAT.
