Marine Scout Snipers have officially selected their scope of choice as part of the Mk13 Mod 7 .300 Winchester Magnum sniper weapons system, announcing that the Nightforce Optics ATACR 5-25×56 F1 Day-Scope will serve alongside snipers.
A completely new direction from the previous M40 sniper rifle, the new combo aims to increase lethality at extended ranges for the Marine Corps Scout Snipers. NightForce said the new rifle selection required a scope that could match the .300 Winchester Magnum’s ruggedness, durability and performance.
“The increased capability of the newly issued Mk13 Mod 7 sniper rifle requires a scope that is as rugged, reliable, repeatable, and dependable as the United States Marines tasked with using it,” Nightforce’s MIL-GOV-LE Business Development Manager, Tod Litt, said in a press release. “The Nightforce MIL-SPEC ATACR 5-25×56 F1 was chosen as the day scope to take full advantage of the rifle systems’ competencies.”
Litt said the optic boasts a Horus TReMoR3 Reticle offering integrated millradian based grids. The reticle delivers time-of-flight wind dots calibrated to both the rifle and ammunition. Fully, multi-coated ED glass
