This footage shows the value of safety equipment as this man collides with a deer at a high rate of speed. Fortunately, he has been able to recover from this terrifying event (see his description below.) The collision happens at about 7:41 on the clip.

“Me getting taken out by a deer. Was riding a Yamaha WR250X around 1pm on Fox Island,Wa when it happened. Ended up in the hospital for 5 days. 6 permanent screws and a plate holding my ankle together, 2 fractures to my shoulder as well as torn muscle. To top that off had massive swelling/bruising on my hip from landing.” –rodgazinya
