A 61-year-old man was arrested over the weekend after he drove down a Florida highway pretending to be a cop while flashing a fake badge trying to pull over motorists.
Lloyd Chang was charged with impersonating a law enforcement officer, a third-degree felony. Chang was driving a black Toyota Camry with dark window tint, and was found with a concealed weapons permit badge on a chain around his neck and a .357 revolver in his car.
Florida Highway Patrol was alerted to the scam after receiving a call from a woman whom Chang tried to pull over. She said she didn’t notice lights or a law enforcement logo on the vehicle, so instead of pulling over, she called the FHP, something authorities say was a smart move.
Witnesses say Chang was attempting to pull over multiple vehicles, though not all of his “traffic stops” were successful.
