Maine Senate Vote on “Constitutional Carry” Legislation Delayed Until Tomorrow

Fairfax, VA -(Ammoland.com)- The state Senate has postponed the vote on the constitutional/permitless carry bill, Legislative Document 652, until tomorrow, May 28.

As previously reported, this NRA-backed “Constitutional/Permitless Carry” legislation, sponsored by Senator Eric Brakey (R-Androscoggin), would recognize the right of all residents of Maine who are not otherwise prohibited by law from possessing a firearm to carry concealed without obtaining a Concealed Handgun Permit (CHP). LD 652 would also leave the current carry permitting system intact for those who wish to participate in reciprocal concealed carry permit agreements when traveling to other states.
