Texas-based Magpul’s latest entry to their Hunter line of replacement stocks is designed to bring a host of features to Ruger’s American short-action rifle. Billed as “premium performance in an affordable package,” Magpul said the Hunter American stock for the Ruger American is, well, “200 percent” American in a way.
While that is undeniable marketing logic, what is not up for debate is the level of features included with the “drop-in” aftermarket stock to include an anodized aluminum bedding block and fully adjustable length of pull and comb height. The 3.3-pound stock’s polymer construction is reinforced with steel recoil lugs. The handguard is M-Lok compatible for other accessories.

While the LOP is adjustable from 13- to 15-inches with included 0.5-inch spacers, an optional riser kit can be used to adjust cheek weld. For those with .308 and similarly sized chamberings, the stock includes a magazine well to accommodate a PMAG 5 7.62 AC. Those in other calibers would have to go AICS.
About the only thing that is missing is swivel studs, but the stock does have dimpled drill points
