A 37-year-old man was shot and killed last week during a domestic dispute with a former girlfriend at her Las Vegas home.
Police say the woman placed a 911 call just before noon Wednesday and told the dispatcher she shot her ex-boyfriend as he was attacking her. Officers arrived on the scene and the man was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The man was identified as Adam Dahl and according to the Clark County coroner, he was shot in the shoulder and chest with a shotgun.
The woman, whose name was not released, has two young children who were at school at the time of the shooting.
No charges have been filed at this time and authorities are calling it a case of domestic violence.
Capt. Richard Fletcher with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department called on the community to speak up against domestic violence.
“People don’t want to get involved because they don’t want to that neighbor. I’m asking you to be that neighbor. Be that friend or co-worker,” he said.
“I bet this could been avoided if someone stepped up and said this lady is having issues, can you help her?” Fletcher added.
