Missoula, MT -(AmmoLand.com)- Outdoor Writers Association of America is pleased to announce that John Kruse of Cashmere, Washington, was recognized as an award recipient during the 2015 OWAA Excellence in Craft Contests.

This annual awards program recognizes and honors the best work of outdoor communicators who are members of OWAA. This year, 62 individuals took home a total of nearly $12,000 in cash prizes. For more info, visit http://owaa.org/eic.

His awards:

First place in the outdoor fun & adventure category of the Radio/Podcast contest for “Route of the Hiawatha,” Northwestern Outdoors Radio, August 16, 2014. The outdoor fun & adventure category recognizes the best outdoor recreation work from the various non-consumptive sports. This includes, but is not limited to, outdoor sports such as camping/backpacking, boating, hiking, birding, snow skiing, orienteering, mountain biking and general outdoor activities.

First place in the conservation category of the Radio/Podcast contest for “Winter Whale Watching,” Northwestern Outdoors Radio, December 26, 2014. The conservation category recognizes pieces with an emphasis on successes or challenges within conservation; interesting new discoveries within nature; or a fascinating tale about a creature, plant or ecosystem.
