On Aug. 11, Kahr Arms officially became a Pennsylvania company.

Its new corporate headquarters, on which construction began in May 2014, opened its doors in Pike County, Penn., after the completion of Phase I of the building project.

The new 40,000 square-foot building houses offices for more than 20 of Kahr’s employees, as well as warehousing, shipping and a research and development engineering division. The structure also contains two underground 100-yard shooting ranges, which will be used exclusively for the testing and development of new products.

“As we continue to expand our business in Pennsylvania, we look forward to bringing jobs to Pike County and also hope that we can convince other firearms industry companies to join us on this 620-acre property,” Kahr Firearms Group CEO Justin Moon said. “Our job is far from over here.”

Phases II and III of the property development are still in the planning stages, but there are plans for manufacturing and production capabilities at the new site, as well as a factory outlet retail store.

Currently, there are no plans to close Kahr’s existing manufacturing plants in Massachusetts or Minnesota.
