YAKIMA, WASHINGTON — A homeowner had to shoot a juvenile in the chest after the kid and his buddy broke into a home. Both suspects were masked and believed to be armed when they broke into the home.

According to the Yakima Herald, the kid’s gun was recovered at the scene and he was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. The kid is listed in critical condition. His buddy was also captured alongside the getaway vehicle’s driver and passenger.

You know where you also see a lot of kids getting into violent crime at an early age? Latin America, Eastern Europe, and sub-Saharan Africa. Maybe gangs — and this is a real crazy hypothesis — actively recruit kids because they have a low overall value, are expendable, and aren’t punished to the same level as an adult?

What would I expect to see in the coming years? More adolescents and teenagers engaging in violent crime.

There’s no support structure available to stop them and there’s every incentive in the world for bad guys to recruit them.
