Here is a perfect example of all the gun laws allowing a criminal to walk free in spite of being caught jaywalking with 30 bags of weed and an illegal weapon in his possession. Yet we as law abiding citizens get the book of the law thrown at us while they are trying to tell us where we can and cannot carry.

The police in Chicago (where some of the strictest gun laws exist) stopped Dwight Robinson for a simple jaywalking charge. It quickly turned into something more after the police found more than 30 bags of marijuana and a gun on his person. Because Dwight had a felony he can’t have a gun. Obviously that did not stop him.

He should have gotten a lifetime prison sentence for drug trafficking alone, but that is where the technicality of this crazy case comes into play. It all started when the police stopped him for jaywalking when they found the drugs and gun. If they hadn’t stopped him for jaywalking they never would have found the rest.
