Irresponsible Gun Owner of the Week Accidentally Shoots Woman in Theater

It’s gun owners like this that give the rest of the millions of responsible gun owners a bad name. This is also another example of firearms and alcohol being a very bad mix.

A man who was apparently intoxicated entered a Washington Regal Cinemas theater at 8pm Thursday night.

According to King5.com, the suspect says he dropped his gun and that’s when it fired, striking a woman and critically wounding her. The 29- year-old suspect then fled the scene but his father later called 911 to report the incident.

Renton police say the suspect, who appeared intoxicated, went to the showing of “13 Hours.” Police say the man walked inside the theater with a gun and “accidentally” discharged his weapon, hitting a woman in the theater.

The woman is being treated at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.
