CHURCH HILL, TN — When an intoxicated man attempted to break into a Tennessee home, he didn’t receive a very warm reception.

Specifically, the guy got a shotgun pointed right at him until police came.

As the Kingsport Times-News reports:

Upon being confronted by the shotgun-wielding homeowner, Brock Alan Ward, 24, 334 Smyrna Road, Surgoinsville reportedly started yelling, “Don’t shoot, don’t shoot.” Ward later allegedly admitted he had been using meth prior to the burglary.

Shortly before midnight Saturday, Hawkins County Sheriff’s Office Deputy John Tunnell was dispatched to a burglary in progress complaint at the residence of Brian Dye on River Road just south of Church Hill.

Dye stated his wife woke him up saying someone just broke into their house. He grabbed the shotgun and went downstairs where he found Ward halfway out the kitchen window. The Dyes two small grandchildren were in the house at the time.

Ward allegedly stated he had used a propane tank on the porch to break the window and was confronted by the homeowner with a gun before he was able to make full entry into the residence.

Ward was charged with aggravated burglary and vandalism.
