Family-owned Kaufman’s Army Navy Store in midtown Manhattan has been in operation for generations and has some pretty sweet stuff hidden on their racks.
Sure, the guys that do these videos, Highsnobiety, are oriented towards streetwear and sneaker life, but they do appreciate cool milsurp so they can’t be that bad. Plus, you get a sneal peak inside Kaufman’s, which has been around for 80 years, supplied the original M-65 field jacket used in Taxi Driver and has everything from unissued U.S Army WWII campaign ribbons to Royal Navy “soaker shirts” on hand.
Of course, too bad they can’t go by Bannerman‘s.
For more Army-Navy surplus tours check out their visits to stores in LA and Portland below, and be sure to reach out to your own local military surplus store, because you never know what you are going to find.
