FOXAuthorities say a 61-year-old Michigan hunter was shot in the arm with a crossbow after a fellow hunter apparently mistook him for a turkey.

The Jackson County sheriff’s department says the man was shot early Sunday in the left arm while hunting on private land in Liberty Township. The Jackson Citizen Patriot reports he was taken to a hospital and was expected to survive.

The sheriff’s department says the 51-year-old Jackson man who shot him is expected to face charges.

You have got to be kidding me. How can, what I assume to be, an experienced hunter “mistake” a full grown man for a turkey? There are only three possible explanations:

1. He was using the scope on his cross bow to glass, probably had is finger on the trigger, and he jumped when he saw movement.

2. He was mad someone was hunting near him and he wanted to teach the other guy a lesson.

3. This guy is truly unable to tell the difference between humans and turkeys.

I’m hoping it’s reason number 1. At least then the issue is ignorance/lack of education. If it’s either of the last two reasons, this guy need to be locked up.

Hunting accidents are nothing new unfortunately. …Read the Rest
