As an excerpt from Panteao’s feature-length Colt Model of 1911 documentary video, they go to the factory and detail the final assembly of a GI longslide step-by-step.
To be sure, the four-minute clip has a History Channel feel to it– or maybe a Plumbus— but if you are a Colt fan or a member of the larger 1911 tribe, it’s a must-watch. Be sure to check out the assembler’s workstation and note that she seemingly never misses a smack of her Wrigley’s during the whole process. How many .45’s do you think she has put together?
Also, History Channel, if you are reading this, bring back WWII in HD already. Sheesh.
